The Role – Group Funding Manager
Group Funding is part of Group Funding & Treasury of Damen. As a Group Funding Manager, you will play a pivotal role in financing the Damen Group. The job includes arranging, structuring, and managing a diverse range of funding transactions such as corporate and working capital facilities, project, vessel, and asset finance, including real estate finance.
The Group Funding team serves as a center of expertise within the Damen group. You will work closely with the treasury team, financial directors across divisions, CFO-office and Group Control, to ensure a robust group capital structure and manage financial risks. You will structure transactions and manage projects with company-wide Damen teams.
Your daily activities will involve frequent communication and collaboration with colleagues worldwide, interfacing regularly with our diversified finance and bank guarantee partners, and maintaining and expanding relationships with financial institutions. Internal stakeholder management is of great importance.
You will be at the forefront of sustainable funding initiatives; you will spread the Damen story and convince new investors and financing partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and execute funding transactions to optimize and diversify the Group’s funding structure.
- Structure and negotiate legal documentation and project management of complex financial transactions, with internal and external legal counsel and (financial) advisors.
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with financial partners.
- Educate financial stakeholders on the Damen business model, translate financials and forecasts of Damen into clear and accessible material
- Support and create financial models for financial transactions, business cases, and investment decisions for decision making and education.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience a similar role in a projects driven corporate, in project finance, in (debt) consultancy or investment banking.
- Pro-active team player looking for common ground, well structured, hands-on and down to earth.
- Project management, proven track record of effective management of complex multiparty processes, with multiple disciplines.
- Proven experience with project finance, trade finance, export credit agencies or sustainable funding is highly appreciated.
- Excellent communication skills in at least Dutch and/or English.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong modeling skills.
- Master in finance, econom(etr)ics, business administration or law is a strong advantage.
