The role

Damen Naval is looking for an Interim Draughtsman to strengthen our Structures, Plans & Arrangements (SP&A) team within the Engineering Department. In this role, you will enrich foundation drawings with all required information to enable onsite machining such as machining details, bolt configurations, and grouting requirements.

You will collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, installation teams, and suppliers, applying your technical expertise to ensure foundations can be correctly aligned, fixed, and supported. As a Draughtsman, you will work within a Multi‑Disciplinary Team, create the necessary drawings in 3D software, and ensure all required approvals are obtained. Key accountabilities
In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Independently create machining drawings for various foundations.
• Collaborate with multiple internal and external teams to achieve high‑quality output.
• Identify challenges and discuss them with the Multi‑Disciplinary Team Lead, proactively contributing effective solutions.
• Adapt to changing project requirements and stay informed about the latest developments in your field.
   

Skills & experience
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Secondary vocational education (MBO‑4+) in an engineering‑related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in creating production and machining information.
• Experience with 3D CAD systems such as SolidWorks or 3DExperience (CATIA).
• Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Excellent antecedents, as a pre‑employment security screening is a standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent multiyear EU citizenship combined with a permanent EU work visa, required due to the defence‑related nature of our clients and projects.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
