The role
As Business Process Expert at Damen Naval, you analyse, improve, and implement business processes that support engineering activities and the execution of complex naval shipbuilding projects. You lead improvement initiatives across departments, identify inefficiencies in existing workflows, and implement structured solutions using methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma. Working closely with stakeholders throughout the organisation, you ensure that process improvements are effectively implemented and adopted.

Key accountabilities
As Business Process Expert your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading projects to improve and implement business processes across the organisation.
• Analysing existing workflows to identify inefficiencies and optimisation opportunities.
• Developing and implementing process improvements aligned with organisational objectives.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective process changes.
• Monitoring and analysing KPIs to measure the impact of process improvements.
• Leading change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new processes.
• Preparing reports and presenting improvement results to management.
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement across departments.
• Collaborating with IT teams to support process digitalisation and system integration.
• Ensuring compliance with HSSEQ policies and procedures.

Skills & experience
To excel as Business Process Expert, you need to have:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical or management discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience leading large-scale improvement or transformation projects.
• Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma or an equivalent methodology.
• Strong experience with business process improvement and continuous improvement methods.
• Proven experience with change management and implementing organisational changes.
• Experience working in complex project-driven or manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Good command of the Dutch and English language, written and spoken.
• Excellent references, as security screening is part of the hiring process.
