THE ROLE
The Welding Operations Specialist is responsible for preparing, maintaining quality, and continuously improving welding processes in production. This role involves developing procedures, optimizing workflows, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The specialist creates welding instructions and procedures while serving as a crucial link between engineering, production, and customer requirements. By implementing best practices and innovative welding technologies, they enhance efficiency and product quality. Additionally, they oversee material research and manage welding documentation to ensure high-quality production outcomes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains welding procedures, including WPS documentation and compliance in cooperation with engineering and production
  • Optimizes and safeguards welding processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • assesses weldability to determine the best welding methods.
  • Collaborates with engineering and production to improve manufacturability and interpret welding specifications.
  • Develops and maintains welding work instructions, checklists, and job tickets.
  • Supports the implementation of welding-related digital tools and quality control systems.
  • Provides project-based support by preparation and development of welding packages and overseeing execution.
  • Contributes to continuous evaluation and/or improvement of the department’s processes.
  • Contributes to development, transfer, and retention of knowledge within the department.
  • Understands and follows all HSSEQ policies and procedures.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in a technical study with at least 7-10 years relevant experience or Master degree in a technical study with at least 5-7 years relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and welding-related standards (e.g., NEN 3834).
  • Knowledge of production methodologies, welding technology, and quality control systems.
  • Minimum IWT certification, with sufficient knowledge of IWE.
  • Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.

  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
