Job Overview: A Marine Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing projects related to marine and offshore environments. This role involves planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to deadlines and budgets, while ensuring technical quality and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management:
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope of work, resources, and timelines.
- Coordinate and manage project resources, personnel, and logistics.
- Technical Design and Analysis:
- Review of design packages, analysis, and implementation of marine structures and systems.
- Ensure designs meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- As a project engineer you will report directly to the Project Manager
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for project execution.
- Site Supervision:
- Oversee construction and installation processes on-site (worldwide).
- Ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Monitor project budgets and control expenditures.
- Prepare and present financial and technical reports.
- Problem Solving and Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Address technical challenges and provide solutions.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all projects adhere to environmental and governmental regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree in marine engineering, naval architecture, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices.
- Project Management: Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and design solutions.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Experience: Previous experience in project management/engineering (and able to work with CAD systems) within the marine or offshore industry is required.
